You guys are all the same. "I want everything, but I don't want to pay for it!"
Adding fifty million uninsured and twenty six million under-insured people to the healthcare rolls will take real money. Money does not grow on trees. The President is going to pay for two-thirds of the reform by reallocating funds already on the books. That means we need to increase revenues to pay for the other one third.
It's not that complicated...

I think there is (or should be) a certain level of unity in masonry. Like, when you ask someone, "Are you a mason?" They will answer appropriately. But apart from that, there are so many differences because each grand lodge is essentially its own fraternity. Many signs are slightly different from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and that's OK. Hopefully, we can all meet on the level of brotherly love and be there for one another when it really counts.

Do your research, cast your vote.

And don't forget to research your local elections, too. That can be even more daunting of a task.

i hear you.

its pretty scary to think that washington is going to be in charge of our banking in the near future. however, i can think of something even more frightening: moscow or beijing controlling our banking.

moscow and beijing have a lot of money floating around right now.

if washington or private investors dont bail wall street out, the russians or chinese will start making offers that our greedy corporate ceos probably wont want to turn down.

bill gates better do something quick.

I loved your blog/article on the state of things in our community, especially the fact that you touched on our lack of understanding of how finances work. Your conclusion is dead on and I wished you had expanded on it more. The more we focus on healing our spirit, the rest will start to fix itself. Great blog. Thank you for the insight.

The world has become such a complicated place. I see and hear your point but don't forget unlike the 'slave trade' these guys are getting paid big buck and are elevating themselves and their families by doing so. They are talented, gifted and it's good to see them get paid for it.

On the other hand I have family and friends who are doctors -- they are 'struggling' in a sense because malpractice insurance is kicking their butts. A doctor no lonnger has the prestige or the income it one had.

I have family and friends that are lawyers -- same thing. They spent a mini lifetime getting educated, they graduate and are being offered $50K a year with $300K in student loan. Same thing for scientists, architects, engineers, dentists, etc.

You have so many people who have done everything they were asked: go to school, excel, participate in extra-curricular activities, volunteer, speak 3 languages, know how to hunt, skin a deer, do a back-flip, etc. They do it, they graduate and can't find a job.

Something is wrong with the infrastraucture of America and it has to be re-set.
