How Bout Dem Cowboys

November 12, 2009

Good evening everyone, I hope all is well.  I had the good fortune of watching the Dallas Cowboysou muscle the Philadephia Eagles last Sunday night.  I know all of the talk was about what happened to the team in their complete destruction in that last game last year.  However, for this week at least lets give to the team they were simply better that the other team.

Its hard to believe, but I actually think they were out coached which is hard for me to admit.  The head coach should get much of the credit for such a great job.  Also the offensive coordinator who I can’t stand deserves some credit too.   This game showed me, as well as, the rest of this country that if this team focuses they can be a scary team.

So, How Bout Dem Cowboys, lets give them a pat on the back, at least for this week(LOL)!!!!  Catch ya later.

The World Series

October 29, 2009

I won’t be long, but what happened to the Yankees this evening.  You guys have the most incredible lineup in baseball and you get blasted.   I know the starting pitcher for the Phillies is pretty good but isn’t the guy you started from the same team he came from and wasn’t he better?  That’s all I’m saying.  I’m really disappointed.  I’m still going with the Yanks in 6 games, it will be toougher for them that’s all.  Cach ya later!!!!

Who is to Blame?

September 23, 2009

Hello, everyone, I’m just sitting here reflecting on somethings and the one thing that has still got me irked is the Cowboy football game. How in the world do you lose a game like that?  You do that by turning over the ball 4 times, that’s how.  Oh well, in Dallas the question is who do you balme for that horrific loss.

Personally, I blame the quaterback Tony Ohno.  I say that because when he throws a pass many times I say, “Oh no!!!”  He was responsible for three of the turnovers in that game.  I know the one to the tight end was kind of a funny play, but if he threw the ball in a better spot it would have just been an incomplete pass.  So, anyway turnovers are what kille them on Sunday.

However, since no one is really jumping on him like they did T.O., I’m going to blame someone other that the quaterback for the loss.  I’m blaming the hot dog vendor because he fed the crowd those hot dogs that cost up too much.  The thought of the cost must have driven the Cowboys crazy.

So, that’s not god enough let blame the owner.  He shouldn’t have schedule the Giants on their home opener.  Hmm, that almost sounds plausible.  He should have gotten some sorry team to be my world beater Cowboys team.  Yeah, let’s blame the owner.

No, that’s not enough then let’s blame the cheerleaders.  The were distracting the players so much that they could not concentrate on the game.  Those short shorts were just too much for them and they were to busy loking at them, instead of, payting attention to the game.  I think that will work.

Everybody knows those are terrible excuses.  Just blame the quaterback like you used to blame Aikman and Staubach when they lost.  If he can’t take the heat then he needs to get out of the kitchen.  Until next time.

It is better to Forgive, Vick

August 15, 2009

Hello everyone I’m back this week twice because of the Michael Vick situation in Philadelphia.  I too, was stunned thatthe Eagles signed the once “greatestweapon in football’, but I was upset because of my beloved Cowboys and the matchup problems they would have with them now.  That’s was my take on it, but there are those people out there who have made this an issue of once you do a crime you must pay for this for the rest  of your life.

Like I said, I’m a Cowboys fan and that Pre-season game with the Raiders made me sick to my stomach and then Vick signs with the Eagles.  I told my wife there goes the division.  However, imagine my surprise when people like the Eagle fans and PETA have responded in such a negative way.  I mean, did he not lose his 100 million dollar contract and if I remember correctly he got the worst sentence of all of the defendants in the dog-fighting case.  To make matters worse he is bankrupt.  I don’t know what else yon can do to the guy.

First let me start with the great fans of Philadelphia, you guys truly are living up to your title as being the dumbest football fans in America.  You guys have recieved and early Christmas present in Vick and you don’t want him. You guys wine ad complain how you guys never win the Superbowl, how you need an extra something to win it all and your coach delivers, but you complain.  I truly don’t feel sorry for you when you play Dallas because that is one more weapon my beloved Cowboys will have to deal with.  I wish we had him I would personally shake his hand and welcome him here.

You guys must be stuck in “Rocky” mode if you think that just having the biggest heart wins all the time.  True that happens but more often than not havng superior talent does help the situation tremendously.  I mean this from the bottom of my Cowboy heart, shut the hell up!!!  You guys have everything  just enjoy the ride and pray for no injuries because it is looking like Philadephia will be very serious this year.

How can you guys not forgive anyone, the guys who booed Santa.  Oh and here is my personal favorite. Clapping when Michael Irvin had broke his neck you guys are so wonderful.  How in the hell are you guys judge and jury on conduct of an athelete.  You guys are all morons an the way you have responded to this signing proves it.  We all need to ask God for forgiveness for you dummies because if not you woould be in hell.  But I digress, with the stunts you guys have pulled you can forgive Vick and welcome him in the the city of “Brotherly Love” or is that just some cheap campaing slogan that is used up there.

Now for PETA, those animal lovers, you people are about to make me gag.  You got what you wanted when he went to jail he lost everything, but guess what are you guys human beings.  In the King James Version of the bibleI don’t remember anywhere in it that if you kill dogs you go to hell.  I just can’t remember that being in the 10 commandments.  Thou shall not kill dogs, hmm I must have missed that one.  However, that is not what really irks me.

We have people doing many things worse than he did and he gets forgiven.  In the NFL there is a football player who had a DUI and killed a woman, I don’t remember people protesting him when he came back to play football.  Now, I’m not saying that dogs are not living creatures, but damn give the protest a rest.  So what, you love animals if we ckecked your closet I bet you have done some things that most people would find unable to forgive.  He who is without sin shall cast the 1st stone and I have not seen that person yet.

So, you dumb Eagle fans and PETA idiots just remember, this is America where we are supposed to get a second chance. He did pay his debt to society a federal judge made sure of that.  He lost out on his 100 million dollar contract the NFL commissioner and his former team took care of that.  All we have left is the the man Michael Vick, footbal player.  He is not a superstar anymore he is a scrub.  He is not the man, he is the man sitting next to the man, sitting next to the man, sitting next to the man.  He is a fallen star who has crumbled.  If we are the Christians, we say we are forgiveness will be given to him and redemption will be granted.  That’s all for now, C-YA!!!

My Man Dirk

May 22, 2009

Hello, everyone I just wanted to talk about something that has been eating at me just a little bit.  As many of you basketball fans know, Dirk Nowitski’s girlfriend was recently arrested.  Of course, this was a blow to him, but that is not the end of this story.  It seems that girlfriend was may different people and was trying to con our man Dirk.

Now, I don’t know the extent of that relationship, but it appears problems started when he asked for a pre-nuptial agreement.  She became irate at the idea.  Oh, I don’t know he has trained for most of his life for this career and she has nothing.  I think that was a great idea.  How could she even consider being mad about it.

Anyway, now she is crying in the paper about how he won’t talk to her.  She is lucky he is not saying anything to her.  I’m pretty sure he wants to call her a few choice words.  But what gets me is she is crying in the paper pointing fingers at everyone except herself.

She is the one with the criminal past not Dirk.  She is the one that balked at the pre-nuptial not Dirk.  Now she is pregnant with his child.  If I were him I would take the child and keep on moving.  But hey, that’s me.

I just had to say this because some people are defending her, the crook.  The Ms, I don’t really know your name, girlfriend.  Enough with that she is no victim here she got caught bottom line.  She needs to accept the consequences and enjoy her jail cell.  Anyway, that’s all catch ya’ next time.

Is their a Conspiracy in the NBA

May 10, 2009

Hello, out there I’m going to change gears and talk about the NBA for a few lines.  I saw the game between the Rockets and the Lakers and saw the elbow Kobe gave to Artest during the game.  Now, to me it is really funny that a star player can do that and get away with it and a nbody like Fisher can do the same thing and get a one game suspension.  That is really odd to me.

How do you put an elbow to the throat of someone thatcould possibly kill them and not get a suspension.  C’mon now, you know if I did that they would give me a fove or six game suspension, but because Kobe did it he misses no game time.  Are the television revenues that much?  Does the NBA need the money that badly?

Now as for me football is my sport and I love it and the officials are much better.  I mean yeah you do have the occasional mess ups but the NFL has their act together with the officiating crews.  Of course with instant replay it has cut down on many of the missed calls that otherwise would have been let go, so why is it that the NFL runs major sports.  Anyway back to the elbow in the neck

It really used to trip me out when people used to say that the NBA was generally fixed to have certain teams win the championship.  I truly would agrgue and say that was not right because I generally thought that they had been doing a good job over the years, but not this year.  To me their is a clear disparity between calls between teams and players that has not been this apparent for as long as I can remember.

Look at the Lakers, Cavaliers, and even the Nuggets it seems that during this playoff season so many things are not being called that it has truly affected the way look at the games this year.  I think that this season we the public are more aware to this because of our current emotional and economis status this year.

If Mr. Stern ever were to read this I would tell him take a long hard look at how this playoff officiating has been and do something about it.  I don’t know if you have to put them in school or pay them more, but do something or the wod conspiracy will be equated with the NBA for many years to come.  Cathch you next time.

Please Use Common Sense

March 28, 2009

Hello everyone, I’m back with another installment of the Political-Hop.  You know as I was watching the local news I saw a story that really took me by surprise.  As you know I live in Dallas, Tx. the news here is like everywhere else, blah, blah, blah.  However, this time I saw something that really made me cringe.

I’m sure you have heard about it by now.  A young man was taking is wife to see her mother who was dying of breast cancer.  He ran a red light because it was imprtant for his wife to be with her mother during her last few minutes on this earth.  The husband was pulled over in the hospital parking lot, some remarks were made and it took two hospital officals and a security guard to convince the officer to let him go.  Then he wrote the driver a nice little ticket.  Another note to this story is that the driver plays for the the NFL Houston Texans and never once mentioned it to the officer to get favorable treatment in this matter.  Plus, one more interesting fact is that the officer had his gun drawn at the couple during this entire exchange.  To make matters worse the officer was white and the couple was black.

Now me, having been in a similiar situation a few years ago I thought that to be a highly unusual way for this officer to handle this situation.  Many officers will just follow the person to the hospital to ensure the truth is being told and either write the ticket or let the person go if the truth is being told.  However, this particular officer apparently had a chip on his shoulder and decided to flex his muscles on this individual.

I do understand that policemen do have a hard job in protecting our streets, but please use some common sense.  First, it would have just took him maybe five extra minutes to chek out his story at the hospital since they were in the parking lot.  Next, why draw your gun on an unarmed man and a visibly upset wife.  Last but not least, try to keep your sarcastic remarks to yourself in this most emotional time.

How would you look at this situation?  White cop, Black couple, I mean we try to not make these things about race, but on occasions like this what else can you think.  Would this officer have reacted differently if the couple had been white?  What if the colors were reversed, how would the world at large have seen it?  I mean this is a crazy situation and it should not be tolerated.  If this officer would have just used his COMMON SENSE he would not be in the middle of this firestorm.  It looks like a typical case of D.W.B which stands for Driving While Black and many African Amercans have experienced it.  I think this officer should be fired for this and if not he should be glued to a desk for the next 30 years.   Anyway, that’s all see you next time.

Now Watcha Gonna Do

March 6, 2009

Hello, everyone out there.  This evening there is just one story I want to talk about and it ain’t the President.  Why oh why, did my Dallas Cowboys let go of T.O?  I heard the news last night and was completely floored.

Oh well, I have to move on and have been a fan of the team for many years, but I wonder do the guys who pushed for his release really understand what is going on.  I mean really we all have regular jobs and we do not get along with everyone we work with, however, we make things work at our jobs.  I’m mean the President does not get along with Senator and Congressman on Capital Hill, but he has to work with them to be successful.  So why can’t our starting quarterback and tigh tend get over not liking the guy and work for the common good iof getting us a Superbowl.  I understand his check has more zeroes behind it than mine but I have to work with people I don’t like and guess wat my organization is and has been successful for some time now.  Just a thought.

Next, for those people who dug that ditch for T.O., you have no more excuses to not win playoff games and not call the right offensive game plan.  Now I’m not naming names because that really is not my style but you guys know who I’m talking about.  I for the life of me cannot understand how these two individuals can get by with doing nothing  and not get drug in the mud like everyone else.  But, hey that’s okay because your number one excuse is gone.  Let me see, if you lose again in December whose fault will it be this time.  It’s the coach who was to mean, oops he is gone, or it’s the opinioniate reciever, oops he’s gone too who will you blame next?  You need to look in the mirror at yourselves.

Anyway, that’s all for me I just had to vent on this one.  See you guys next week.

The End of the Year

December 31, 2008

Today is 12/31/2008 the end of one crazy year.  As we all look towards the next year what we hope to accomplish.   Will our country come out of 2009 in better or worse shape than it is already in.  I just have a couple of thoughts on the subject.

How are we going to make it in the year 2009 with the economy as bad as it is?  We all have had to deal with this issue in 2008 and it is sure to be the major thing in 2009.   Many people are just plain scared of the uphill battle ahead for this country in the coming year.  This will cost all of us something and I’m not just talking about the bailout money.  This will cost us mentally and physically, as well.

How are we going to make it spiritually?  In tough times usually we fall to our knees in prayer, but that has not been emphasized this year.  I really hope we all get on our knees and pray in this coming year because we will need to have it.  As I look into the work we worry about money and jobs, but our spirituality has been lost in the message today.  So, for 2009 I’m going to work on prayer it is needed and I hope you are too.

Anyway, that’s all for me in 2008 have a safe New Year.

Let Kobe Be Kobe

June 10, 2008

I watched the NBA championship game two the night before and watched as the Celtics really stuck to Kobe and the rest of the Lakers.  It was during this game a thought occurred to me is this the guy who was supposed to be like Magic and Jordan.  I just remembered the times when people were comparing him to great players like that.  So let’s make a comparison to those guys.

Let’s start with the Lakers and Magic.  The Magic man was so unselfish that he played center for Kareem because the team needed him.  His no-look passes used to make me sick back when I idolized Dr. J.  He was amazing at getting his other teammantes involved in the game.  You really had to admire that about him.

Kobe, when he first came into the league he shot like there was no tomorrow.  Unfortunatley, selfish was his middle name.  Personally, I don’t think he was doing that on purpose I think he was trying to distinguish himself as a great player.  He heard all the hype surrounding him and had to live up to it.  The problem is he had players around him who really could have helped him out to make him better.  If he would have passed the ball who knows the number of championsips he would have already had.

Next look at the great Jordan, “His Airness”, himself.  I truly believe he has to be the greatest competitor tat the league has ever seen.  Not to mention the fact his game was tremendous.  He would have dunked on his grandma to win a championship or pass it to her to win.  It doesn’t matter he did whatever it took for the Championship.

Kobe in the Detroit series was being triple and double teamed, but his teammates could have made the shots.  There was no reason for the Lakers to loose that series, but they did.  Kobe kept on trying to win the series by himself and failed miserably.  If that would have been Jordan in the same situation he would have passed to the open man.  Remember Paxson, with the first championship.  Those things are what seperated him from other great players.  Unfortunatley, Kobe has not understood that yet.

As I look at Kobe during this series he still has the pressure of the world on his shoulders now he has to compete with Shaq because he won a ring without him.  I wonder when people will let him just be him and fly and fall on the merits of just being the player he is.  Quit comparing him to this guy or that guy let Kobe be Kobe and enjoy his greatness on the court.  Hit me with your opinion.  C-YA!!!
