We will get back to the political comedy of the republican nomination tomorrow, but today is a day of rememberance for coach Paterno. Yeah, I know the way he went out of coaching Penn State was not great at all, however, you have to give him his just due. To me personally, he became the fall guy for higher ups who simply did not want to deal with a serious issue and thought they could sweep it under the rug. He lived for the school and what did the school do in return. They basically killed him. He helped so many kids over the years, but people will try to remember him for this last incident and say he was a terrible person. That is unfair to him or his memory.
My biggest Paterno memory is the time Penn State played the University of Miami for the National Championship. The Killa’ Canes came out in battle fatigues talking noize(it is spelled correctly for this instance) to Penn State. The Nittany Lions did not respond to them. This went on all week before the game. I think Miami took their silence for weakness. However, when it was time to play the game those quiet Lions opened up a can of Whoop-A– on the Canes so bad that it still scars those boys to this very day. Anyway, remember this guy for all of his good works today as we remember Coach Paterno.
