Who Should Pay for Healthcare?

July 11, 2009 by scratchatary

Good evening everyone, how are you?  As I looked the paper today I read an article about Senate Democrats passing their version of Healthcare Reform whih had the wealthy paying for it.  Now as I was reading this artcle it made me think about fairness in our country.  Here is the reason why, because if this passes won’t everyone be eligible for healthcare and like the other benefits we enjoy in this country shouldn’t we all pitch in to pay for this.

I mean I’m not rich at all I work a normal Monday through Friday job, but I have enough sense to understand that is something we all need to pay for.  We tax the rich at the higher tax brackets continuously and for the rest of us not to pay some of the cost is an idea that does not reflect fairness in this country.  This bill to me is like social security we all need to chip in to make it work.

The Democrats act like making everyone pay will scare off people.  Trust me we all know we need some type of Healthcare Reform in this country.  However, just making a small percentage of Americans pay for it is as Un-American as burning the Flag.  So, really think this through unp there in DC.

Anyway, that’s my opinion catch you next time, C-YA!!!

Republicans, Why Are You So Happy?

July 2, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello, once again as I have looked at the news this week I saw the knucklehead of the Republican Party walk around with their chest stuck out over the Supreme Court nominee’s decision being overturned.  That really tripped me out because once again it does not seem to me that these guys get it.  True her decision on the firefighters needed to be changed, I agree.  However, in the eyes of the latino community they are looking more and more suspect by the day.

I understand her views are controversial, but have you guys ever though about the backlash you guys could receive in the polls come election time.   The President is really the only one who wins this battle because he wins if she gets into the Supreme Court and if she does not get confirmed he can point directly at you guys for her not getting the nomination.  I know you guys will say the court Supreme court voted it down, but us in the real world will still blame you for trying to smear her reputation.

Let’s see smear her and make her the face that latino’s will associate as a sacrificial lamb in their struggle.  On the streets, these guys are talking and they are not talking about voting with you on your next elections.  So, really why are you guys so happy?

If I were you I would re-evaluate you stances the method that worked in the Reagan years won’t work because of a couple of reasons.  The main one is that guess what minority groups as a who out number the majority race in this country.  If you don’t believe me check you stats they will agree with me.  The largest of the groups is the latino population that you keep making mad.  Try to win an election without them and see what would happen.  Oh I’m sorry, you did that’s one of the reason our current President won the election.

The next factor is even more simple, we are broke.  Most people these days can’t afford to be a Republican.  When Reagan was out there we were making money worrying about ourselves, now i is the complete opposite.   You wonder why, we might have a national healthcare system because the majority is now broke and we are tired.  We are just tired of everything that has happened and we can’t afford to go back to the Eighties.   However, here you guys go acting like nothing has changed.

You guys really need to WAKEUP!!!!!  Please do it quickly before you will only be relavent in a few less states come election time.  See you later.

The Truth about Healthcare

June 18, 2009 by scratchatary

The truth about healthcare in America is simple.  It is not somethng that can be obtained bey everyone.  I know we are in the land of the brave and the free, but let’s admit it everyone can’t get it.  Now I know there is a segment of the country that says we should leave our system the way it is, my question to them is, Why?

Why should we leave this pitiful system the way it is when we have so many poor people out there without it.  We can help to save other countries but in our home nation we can’t save ourselves.  Please tell me the reason why a change it is not needed.

I understand that we really may not be able to have medical benefits for everyone, but something has to be done.  It is a shame when in this, the greates country in the world people can actually die from not having the medical attention they deserve.  Can you imagine dying because you can’t afford to see a doctor, that’s crazy.

Oh, and I know some guys will say they just need to get a job.  Hmm, let me see everyone is laying off now at a record rate.  The last time I checked if you muliply Zero times Zero you still get Zero.  So if there is not job you can’t medical and the way things are going now most companies simply are not able to afford to pay for their employees medical coverage, of course, my number one answer is that everyone is laying off people so where does that leave us.   So on one hand jobs are hard to find and on the other companies are not even offereing medical in some cases, then with people laying off at an alarming rate where is that job medical coverage again, I must have missed it in my calculation.

The truth about health care is simle it has to be fixed.  I’m not saying the president is completely right, but something does need to be done to correct this problem and fast.

Social Security

June 4, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day.  This time I want to talk about some information I received that really has me thinking.  This information is not really a Democratic or a Republican issue, but itis important for all of us.  I got an interesting emailfrom a friend of mine that said we might be paying social security benefits to illegal immigrants who reside in our country.

Now, me personally, I dont mind paying if you are here legally and follow the rules that have been laid out.  However, if you are here illegally I have a real problem with having to use my tax dolloars to pay for services you use.  As I said this really is not an indictment on the political parties because their guilt is evident without pointing a finger at either one.

So here I’am working my job having taxes and social security taken from my pay over the years to help pay for my retirement year down the road.  Then you have some guy who is here illegally taking away from my social security benefits.  This person has not paid a red cent or paid the price the rest of us Americans have paid to earn the right to receive it and here you go wanting to give this money to an illegal.  To put it simply, that ain’t right.

There are those who will say America is made up of immigrants and we should let them have that right.  That is true but we have standards and rules to play by and if a person comes here to this country and follows the rules of our land and gets citizenship legally, then social security should be something this person receives.  But if you are here mooching off the system that is already exahausted and then you want social security benefits when you are old have not paid your fair share of taxes and social security withholding to begin with, I feel we should not allow that as an option.

I just can’t fathom the reasoningbehind that idea.  I think it is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard and I hope that this action never sees the light of day.  Catch you next time.

Our Supreme Court Nominee

June 1, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello, everyone is talking about te nominee for the Supreme Court.  This nominee is a female, latina and controversial.  What else is new when it comes to the politics of our beloved country.

Well the female thing is really old because of the pick Pres. Reagan nominated years ago.  To be honest, she has done an outstanding job on the bench.  So, for the shock value of being a female pick is not a big deal.

However, being latina that is a big deal.  With all of the conversation about words she said a few years ago you would think that she was an idiot on the bench.  If we lood at her record over the years it appears that she has no bias when it came to delivering her rulings in court, but she is racist if you be a certain talk sho host and former house speaker.

I really cannot sit up here and say taht I have not said some dumb things over the years, but my actions have always stood out to define me.  I would just think that in looking at this nominee should these guys in Washington look at her body of work, instead of, some comments she made a few years ago.  At the very least the conservatives out there be aware that hispanic population is beginning to be the majority in this country and you will need their votes.  So please, just chill.

Anyway that’s all.  Catch ya next time.

My Man Dirk

May 22, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello, everyone I just wanted to talk about something that has been eating at me just a little bit.  As many of you basketball fans know, Dirk Nowitski’s girlfriend was recently arrested.  Of course, this was a blow to him, but that is not the end of this story.  It seems that girlfriend was may different people and was trying to con our man Dirk.

Now, I don’t know the extent of that relationship, but it appears problems started when he asked for a pre-nuptial agreement.  She became irate at the idea.  Oh, I don’t know he has trained for most of his life for this career and she has nothing.  I think that was a great idea.  How could she even consider being mad about it.

Anyway, now she is crying in the paper about how he won’t talk to her.  She is lucky he is not saying anything to her.  I’m pretty sure he wants to call her a few choice words.  But what gets me is she is crying in the paper pointing fingers at everyone except herself.

She is the one with the criminal past not Dirk.  She is the one that balked at the pre-nuptial not Dirk.  Now she is pregnant with his child.  If I were him I would take the child and keep on moving.  But hey, that’s me.

I just had to say this because some people are defending her, the crook.  The Ms, I don’t really know your name, girlfriend.  Enough with that she is no victim here she got caught bottom line.  She needs to accept the consequences and enjoy her jail cell.  Anyway, that’s all catch ya’ next time.

Is their a Conspiracy in the NBA

May 10, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello, out there I’m going to change gears and talk about the NBA for a few lines.  I saw the game between the Rockets and the Lakers and saw the elbow Kobe gave to Artest during the game.  Now, to me it is really funny that a star player can do that and get away with it and a nbody like Fisher can do the same thing and get a one game suspension.  That is really odd to me.

How do you put an elbow to the throat of someone thatcould possibly kill them and not get a suspension.  C’mon now, you know if I did that they would give me a fove or six game suspension, but because Kobe did it he misses no game time.  Are the television revenues that much?  Does the NBA need the money that badly?

Now as for me football is my sport and I love it and the officials are much better.  I mean yeah you do have the occasional mess ups but the NFL has their act together with the officiating crews.  Of course with instant replay it has cut down on many of the missed calls that otherwise would have been let go, so why is it that the NFL runs major sports.  Anyway back to the elbow in the neck

It really used to trip me out when people used to say that the NBA was generally fixed to have certain teams win the championship.  I truly would agrgue and say that was not right because I generally thought that they had been doing a good job over the years, but not this year.  To me their is a clear disparity between calls between teams and players that has not been this apparent for as long as I can remember.

Look at the Lakers, Cavaliers, and even the Nuggets it seems that during this playoff season so many things are not being called that it has truly affected the way look at the games this year.  I think that this season we the public are more aware to this because of our current emotional and economis status this year.

If Mr. Stern ever were to read this I would tell him take a long hard look at how this playoff officiating has been and do something about it.  I don’t know if you have to put them in school or pay them more, but do something or the wod conspiracy will be equated with the NBA for many years to come.  Cathch you next time.

The Flu???

May 3, 2009 by scratchatary

Hello, everyone out there do you have the flu?  That seems to be the big question we have had for the last few weeks.  Since when did we shut down events for the flu.  The flu mind you, not some deadly disease just the flu.  What is really going on?

Since I’m in Dallas, Tx. I can tell you that they shut down a few shools and districts aroud here, but why?  I’m still hearing it is the flu.  Oh I’m sorry the, “The Swine Flu”, to make it correct.  However, this strain of flu acts basically like the every other flu virus, so what is the big deal?

I’m just trippin’ over the way people are reacting over this.  It used to be you have a few cases of the flu, you would get some medicine and shots.  That would end the epidemic and that was it.  Now we have a pandemic over the flu.  Unbelievable!!!

Anyway, the flu I mean the Swine Flu is nothing that should cause us all this panic.  Catch you next time.

Yikes!!!!

April 27, 2009 by scratchatary

Good evening everyone.  I was just enjoying my weekend when I read some news that really made me just shake my head.  I found out that General Motors was going to cut more plants that expected which means more jobs that expected.  All I could really say is, Yikes!!!

I already new about the extended time from work the employees in Arlington were going to have but now this news.  How much more are we going to have to suffer frm the mis-management of these big companies?  Now, what else can be said.

In the article that I read they were going to have to scale back on many models and clear the inventory that is out there now.  I just wonder how that is going to take place when more Amercans are finding themselves on the unemployment line.  Kind of makes me wonder.

Anyway, it is not my job to fix this problem.  However, what or how can we cope when the American factory infrastructure is crumbling.  I truly don’t know.  Until next time.
